Greta Muirhead is running in the 2008 Election for Clark County Family Court Judge, Dept. I.  Currently, Greta frequently has the honor of serving as an Alternate Hearing Master in Family Court.  She handles the calendar when the regular appointed judicial officers are unavailable.

Since March of 2002, Greta has worked as an Alternate Child Support Hearing Master.  In addition she serves our Las Vegas community as an Alternate Domestic Violence and Guardianship Commissioner.

Few objections are made to Greta’s reports and recommendations because she takes the time to hear both sides of the story and explain the basis for her decisions.   Greta understands the facts and knows the law.  She can and will make a decision. Everyone is given a “fair shake” when Greta holds a hearing.

In addition to serving as a Hearing Master, Greta, who has been a Nevada attorney for more than seventeen years, maintains a sole practitioner private practice.  Her focus in recent years has been heavily contested family law and guardianship cases.

In the past, Greta Muirhead was a court appointed criminal defense attorney with the City of Boulder City.  She also has experience representing parents who were facing termination of their parental rights and has been a court appointed guardian ad litem and attorney for foster care children.

Prior to striking out on her own, Greta worked as an associate in a local law firm.  During her long professional career, she has handled criminal misdemeanor cases and has represented clients in contract disputes, personal injury claims, business litigation and probate.

Greta has had the opportunity to wear many different hats over the years. She has been a lawyer, a client, a litigant, an appointed judicial officer, a business owner, a wife and a mother.  She understands your situation and the difficulties that your children are facing.

Greta Muirhead has been married sixteen years to a former Air Force serviceman. They are fortunate to have a precocious Game Boy loving ten year old son and Pepper, their people-pleasing dog.
